Description

Carrie White lives in a small town with her deeply religious mother, who shelters her from the ways of the world and rules her with an iron thumb. Carrie is shy and quiet, and she is considered a freak and an outcast by everyone at her school, especially when the naive girl gets her first period in the locker room and doesn't know what is happening to her. Along with puberty comes a more drastic change for Carrie. She discovers that she has developed telekinesis, and it manifests itself in dangerous ways during times of stress. A classmate tries to be kind to Carrie by convincing her boyfriend to attend prom with the misfit, but when Carrie is victimized by a cruel prank, mayhem ensues.
