When the egotistical Stephen Strange, the world's most skilled neurosurgeon, suffers a career-ending injury in an automobile accident, he searches for a rehabilitative cure for the damage to his hands. His global journey leads him to study under the Ancient One, a Celtic mystic, who trains the newly-humbled doctor in the arts of sorcery, magic, and alternate dimensions.
